Position Summary
Responsible for providing assistance to the Field Mechanic at main office as well as at job site to ensure that equipment is maintained in accordance to schedule, budget and safety requirements. This position may require the employee to travel depending on the location of the project. Headquartered in Dallas, Texas with the majority of work occurring throughout Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Arkansas, and Mississippi. Primary Responsibilities

Hold/supply tools, parts, equipment, and supplies for other workers.

Position vehicles, machinery, equipment, physical structures, and other objects for assembly/installation, using hand tools, power tools, and moving equipment. o Install/replace machinery, equipment, and new or replacement parts and instruments, using hand/power tools.

Adjust, connect/disconnect wiring, piping, tubing & other parts, using hand or power tools.

Transfer tools, parts, equipment, and supplies to and from work stations and other areas.

Keeps shop equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.

Maintains vehicle functional condition by listening to operator complaints; conducting inspections; repairing engine failures; repairing mechanical and electrical systems malfunctions; replacing parts and components

Tend and observe equipment and machinery to verify efficient and safe operation.

Adjust, maintain, and repair tools, equipment, and machines, and assist more skilled workers with similar tasks.

Clean or lubricate vehicles, machinery, equipment, instruments, tools, work areas, and other objects, using hand tools, power tools, and cleaning equipment.
Requirements

High school diploma, general education degree (GED), or past construction experience is strongly preferred

Minimum 2 years mechanic experience

Ability to communicate with others to convey information effectively

Ability to understand instructions and work specifications

Must be knowledgeable of safety procedures and practices

Must be accustomed to working outdoors with exposure to all weather conditions

Must be able to perform physical activities that require considerable use of the arms and legs and moving the whole body such as: climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, kneeling, bending, and handling of materials, equipment, and tools

Must wear appropriate safety equipment as required by the company

Must be willing and able to travel and work out of town on various jobsites

Must hold a valid driver’s license
